Date & Time: March 25 12:00pm – 1:00pm
Location: Multicultural Center (UC 301)

Out for Lunch is an informal conversation series with staff and faculty members and allows students to meet LGBTQIA+ faculty, staff and administrators in a casual space.

The purpose of the series is to provide an opportunity for students to hear from faculty, staff, and administrators in the LGBTQ+ community about their life experiences, careers, successes and challenges in an intimate setting. All university students are welcome to attend the Out for Lunch series. For this lunch, we will be talking with Micah Schneider, Assistant Director of Practicum Education for the School of Social Work! They will be leading their presentation Sharing your story: You have something that could be a game changer: your story! We all live with experiences that can help shape the way we see ourselves, that can help other people heal, and that can even help change the world. Join Micah, as they share their story and talk about the power that words have in shaping policy.

Micah Schneider (they/them) is currently an Assistant Director of Practicum Education at the Adelphi University School of Social Work. They received their Masters of Social Work in 2018 from Stony Brook University and their Bachelors in Psychology from Hunter College where they graduated Valedictorian. Micah is passionate about LGBTQ+ justice, equity and inclusion; policy change; and program development from a macro social work lens. Their career has taken them from Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic, to the Victims Information Bureau of Suffolk, to Adelphi University where they have had the chance to write programs that serve their communities.

Free lunch will be provided for the first 15 attendees. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please contact Robby Fahrenholtz (rfahrenholtz@adelphi.edu) for accommodations.
