Out for Lunch: Michael Cartusciello
Event Actions
Inspired by the success of the Dinner and Dialogue Series, Out to Lunch allows for informal conversations between students and LGBTQ+ faculty, staff, and administrators over lunch. The purpose of the lunch series is to provide an opportunity for students to hear from faculty, staff, and administrators in the LGBTQ+ community about their life experiences, careers, successes and challenges in an intimate setting. All university students are welcome to attend the Out for Lunch series.

Michael is passionate about educating prospective students from underrepresented populations about the college process. He has volunteered his time teaching students about the financial aid process and college application process through annual events and conferences hosted by the New Jersey Association of College Admissions Counseling (NJACAC), where he currently serves as President-Elect! His experience is also utilized at Adelphi, where he’s hosted the semi annual College Awareness Day event for the past 3 years and spearheaded adding a session for LGBTQ+ students. Before working at Adelphi, Michael spent two years as a Case Manage for a Ryan White program at a Healthcare Clinic in Brooklyn. Working with a predominantly LGBTQ+ population helped him come to terms with his own sexuality and was ultimately able to bring that experience into his work at Adelphi.
