Lower the cost of your course materials by adopting open, free, and library-licensed resources.

Is it possible to get the cost of your required course materials down to zero? Many faculty across the country are able to do it thanks to assigning a combination of open, free, and library-licensed resources. With no purchasing required, students have access on day one and all use the same versions. But how does one find high-quality resources which are open or free and suitable replacements for commercial textbooks and other costly materials?

In this webinar for Open Education Week 2025, Chris Barnes will explain how to search for and adopt these resources, as well as the new kinds of assignments that openly licensed course materials make possible. We will also take a look at some zero-cost courses at other universities.

Registration is required and free.
