The presentation discusses the significant role of nonverbal communications for our future leaders. It covers topics like the smiling effect and the mask effect.

 

Fan Liu, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Marketing, specializes in consumer psychology, social perception, and marketing communications. Her research examines how and why nonverbal cues such as emotional expressions and facial structures influence consumers’ social judgments and decision making. She has published in top peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Consumer Research, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied, & Journal of Consumer Behaviour etc. Her work has been cited in various public media including NY Times, ABC News, Yahoo, & BBC Future. In the classroom, Dr. Liu and her classes have collaborated with well-known companies and local startups on building marketing plans.

 

The Leadership Certificate program, a joint effort between the Center for Career and Professional Studies, the Center for Student Involvement, and the Willumstad School of Business,  is free and open to all undergraduate and graduate students at Adelphi. Students are welcome to join our community on Moodle at any point in the school year.
