FCAP

The First Year Community Action Program (FCAP) gives incoming students the opportunity to participate in various volunteer and community service projects in the community prior to the start of classes. Past locations have included the Northport Veteran Affairs Hospital, Garden City Bird Sanctuary, Hempstead Community Center and the Youth Services Opportunity Program in New York City.

By participating in this program, students will have the opportunity to:

– Get a jump start on your college experience by making new friends before classes start.
– Meet and learn from seasoned upperclassmen AU students.
– Volunteer at various locations and experience cooperative learning opportunities.
– Gain valuable hands-on experience.
– Have fun!

Resident students will have the opportunity to move into their room early. Lunch and Dinners are included for both resident students on the 23rd and a late night event. We ask all participates to bring 10 non-perishable items for an activity and to be donated to the Mary Brennan Inn afterwards.  No glass please.
