In this workshop, Professor Chris Barnes will offer Adelphi Faculty an overview of the different platforms and databases which profile scholars across disciplines, demonstrate ways to evaluate and curate your own profile across platforms and offer some suggestions for how to maximize the discoverability of your scholarship.

In today’s scholarly communications ecosystem, authors are automatically profiled by the databases and platforms that disseminate their work. From Scopus and Web of Science to MathSciNet and Google Scholar, a researcher’s unique identity is used to make their work more discoverable and differentiate it from the output of others.

But these automatically generated profiles are not perfect and often require manual editing or integration with other digital identifier systems like ORCiD and arXiv ID.
