EAC Network’s Safe Harbour Mentoring program
Event Actions
EAC Network’s Safe Harbour Mentoring program. They are located at the Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center in Central Islip, NY and are looking to connect with compassionate, consistent, and committed volunteers who would be interested in empowering mentees to recognize their strengths and to model healthy relationships through a community-based mentorship.
They feel students could be a great fit for our program. They would love to have the opportunity to connect with Adelphi students, to share about their mission and work and explore whether Adelphi students may be interested in becoming a mentor.
Their mentees are youth (ages 10-18) from Suffolk County that may have been impacted by or at-risk of commercial sexual exploitation and human trafficking here on Long Island. These youth are typically referred to us through our Case Management program, schools, and social service agencies.
As an organization we also provide education and presentations within the community to educate on some of the misconceptions and realities of the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) and human trafficking. If this is something that you feel would be interested in please Contact Natasha George at (631) 439-0480; Natasha.George@eac-network.org with any questions or for more information. Please also RSVP on MyAULife so we know you are participating
