The Dinner and Dialogue Series allows for informal conversations between university students and faculty, staff, or administrators of color over dinner. The purpose of the dinner is to provide an opportunity for students to hear from faculty, staff, and administrators of color about their life experiences, careers, successes and challenges in an intimate setting. All university students are welcome to attend the Dinner and Dialogue series. Please join us as we welcome Dr. Wilson Anaya as our guest speaker. 

 

Wilson Anaya was born in Colombia. At the age of 14 he traveled to the US and settled in New York City.
He graduated from Flushing High School and went on to study music at Five Towns College. He obtained
a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art and a Masters in Spanish Literature at Queens College. In 2016 Wilson
Anaya graduated from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York with a Master’s degree in
Philosophy and a doctorate in Spanish and Latin-American Literature. Dr. Anaya studied Law and Police
Science at the Police Academy in New York where he worked as a Police officer for twenty years. In 2020
his book Bolivar y el Modernismo was published in South America as well as in the US. Dr. Anaya
currently teaches Spanish, Spanish Literature, Spanish Cross-Cultural Concepts and Spanish for
Healthcare Professionals in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at Adelphi University.
