November happens to be First Generation Month!
To celebrate this, MENTOR New York is hosting a Career Discovery Day on Friday, November 13 in the afternoon (time TBD), in collaboration with a startup company called Ocrolus, with the hopes of engaging first generation college students seeking an opportunity to learn about careers.
Ocrolus employees are looking to connect with college students in small groups to share their career journey and meet young people who are looking to network, develop relationships and discover the different career paths and opportunities that exist.
The event would be an hour and half. Students will be in Zoom breakout rooms on a 10-15 minute rotation where they’ll have time to network with three different Ocrolus employees. MENTOR New York will also provide an hour-long networking training to prepare students for the event.
