Breaking Down Learning: A Guide to Scaffolding and Other Practices
The way we structure or “break up” course content—concepts, assignments, and even class time—can have an impact on how our students learn. If learners “get lost,” lose motivation, or make structural mistakes on assignments or projects early on, we can restructure upcoming content to bring those learners back into the fold.
During this workshop, we will discuss cognitive load as well as techniques (scaffolding, sequencing, cognitive breaks) that can be implemented to do just that.
This event is for Adelphi University faculty.
