Artivism: The Power of Art for Social Transformation will present how art, whatever one’s “art” may be, aims at inspiring social change.

The Artivism initiative brings together individuals from various fields and institutions to work towards social change through the power of art. The initiative inspires communities to use the sociological imagination to create change and brings together committed social artivists to continuously take action and share ideas, resources, and best practices. By exploring the philosophies of influential thinkers, participants learn about community building and the application of arts practices for social transformation. The goal of Artivism is to promote a more dignified and meaningful co-existence through inclusiveness and diversity.

Presenters: Argie Agelarakis; Stephanie Lake; Carolina Cambronero Varela, Artivism Co-Founders & Co-Producers

The presentation will take place on campus at Adelphi University’s UC and via Zoom
