Starting in the late 19th century with George Chadwick and Horatio Parker, to the father of American modernist music Charles Ives, to “the Dean of American Composers” himself Aaron Copland, and one of the most celebrated composers of the 20th century Samuel Barber, to some of the most respected contemporary American composers Steven Sametz, Vanessa Lann and Joanne Metcalf.
