The following 2026-2027 merit-based awards are renewed each year and are subject to the terms and conditions outlined for each award.

First-Year Student Awards

As a new incoming first-year student, you are automatically considered for academic merit-based scholarships upon acceptance to Adelphi University.

To maximize your eligibility for financial aid, first-year students are encouraged to file the FAFSA® before the priority deadline of March 1.

The Adelphi Advantage Award is offered to full-time incoming first-year students who have participated in the College Credit Advantage Program, Summer Pre-College Program, Panther Pathway to Student Success Program or Adelphi Summer Institute in Mathematical Epidemiology (ASIME) as a sophomore, junior, or senior in high school.

Range of awards: This award is $1,000 per year and may be combined with other scholarship and/or grant awards not to exceed tuition and fees.

Special provisions and renewal criteria: Students who participate in more than one program are not eligible to receive multiple Adelphi Advantage Awards. Refer to the terms and conditions for Adelphi University.

Children or grandchildren of Adelphi alumni are eligible to receive an award up to $1,000 annually. A student must indicate on their application if a parent or grandparent graduated from Adelphi in order to receive the award.

Application process: You will be automatically considered upon receipt of your complete admissions application listing a parent or grandparent who has graduated from Adelphi.

Adelphi University Athletic Grants are offered to full-time students who demonstrate exceptional ability in the area of athletics. The student’s athletic performance/record is the initial criterion for consideration of this award. Eligible students will receive an Athletic Award letter in addition to a copy of their athletic contract.

Application process: Students must first file an admissions application and students who are eligible to file a FAFSA® are required to file the FAFSA® as soon as possible and are encouraged to file by the recommended priority filing date to ensure maximum eligibility for other sources of financial aid.

Range of awards: Up to full tuition, fees room and board.

Special provisions: Students eligible to file the FAFSA® are required to file the FAFSA® each year but are encouraged to do so by the recommended priority filing date. All students must be enrolled full-time (a minimum 12 credits) in a flat rate tuition program leading to a bachelor’s degree, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 2.0, and must not be subject to any disciplinary action.

These awards are offered to full- and part-time students whose individual profiles coincide with specific donor requirements. Adelphi offers a variety of donor scholarships in a number of academic disciplines and on the basis of other factors established by the donor. Donor Scholarships are competitive, vary in amount and are not automatically renewable.

Application process: A completed FAFSA® should be submitted as soon as possible but no later than the prior deadline to ensure maximum eligibility. There is no separate application required unless required by the donor.

Range of awards: The University will offer restricted grants and scholarships based upon individual circumstances, donor restrictions and availability of funds.

Special provisions: Eligibility requirements vary with restrictions established by the donor.

Notification: Eligible students will receive a College Financing Plan stating the amount of the award and/or see the funds credited to their student account.

Academic (merit) scholarships are awarded to new entering full-time first-year students. Eligibility depends upon demonstrating notable academic potential through high school performance and standardized testing (if submitted).

Range of awards: Awards range from $15,000-$40,000 per year for full-time (12+ credits) incoming first-year students.

Special provisions and renewal criteria: Refer to the terms and conditions for Adelphi University.

For full-time (12+ credits) entering new first-year students who meet the requirements for an academic award and who demonstrate exceptional talent in theatre, dance, art, music or communications. You must audition or submit a portfolio for the department of your chosen major, and a declared major in your talent area is required to be eligible for a combination award.

Range of awards: Awards range from $18,500-$43,500 per year for full-time (12+ credits) incoming first-year students.

The Honors College Scholarship is offered to newly admitted full-time (12+ credits) first-time first-year students who are accepted into the Honors College. This scholarship is designed to recognize outstanding achievements and will supplement other scholarships and awards for which you are eligible.

Range of awards: The award is $3,000 per year and may be combined with other scholarships and/or grant awards not to exceed tuition and fees. Students must remain enrolled in the Honors College to keep this award.

Special provisions and renewal criteria: Refer to the terms and conditions for Adelphi University.

The Levermore Global Scholars Award is offered to newly admitted full-time (12+ credits) first-time first-year students who are accepted into the Levermore Global Scholars Program. This scholarship is designed to recognize outstanding achievements and will supplement other scholarships and awards for which you are eligible.

Range of awards: The award is $3,000 per year and may be combined with other scholarships and/or grant awards not to exceed tuition and fees. Students must remain enrolled in the Levermore Global Scholars program to keep this award.

Special provisions and renewal criteria: Refer to the terms and conditions for Adelphi University.

The Adelphi University Panther Grant is offered to newly admitted full-time undergraduates who demonstrate financial need. This grant does not have to be repaid to the University. Students are automatically considered for a Panther Grant upon Adelphi’s receipt of a valid processed FAFSA®. To ensure maximum eligibility, the FAFSA® should be submitted by the priority deadline and any additional requested documentation must be submitted in a timely manner. Eligible students will receive a College Financing Plan stating the amount of the award.

Range of awards: The University will offer Panther Grant awards based upon individual financial circumstances.

Special provisions and renewal criteria: In addition to filing the FAFSA® each year by the recommended priority filing date, students must be enrolled full-time (a minimum 12 credits) in a flat-rate tuition program leading to a bachelor’s degree and maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 2.0.

The Summer 2026 Welcome Award celebrates first-year undergraduate students and undergraduate transfer students joining Adelphi in Fall 2026 with $2,000 off their Fall tuition, should those students enroll in a 2026 summer session course.

Range of awards: The amount of this award is fixed and is a one-time, non-renewable disbursement of $2,000. This award will appear as a credit on the students’ Fall 2026 semester bill after the last day to drop a course, as noted on the Adelphi University academic calendar.

Special provisions and award criteria: To be eligible for Adelphi University’s Summer Welcome Award for summer 2026, students must:

  1. Register for one or more courses during the Summer 2026 sessions
  2. Enroll in full-time undergraduate study at Adelphi University with an anticipated initial entry term of Fall 2026.

Failure to enroll at Adelphi University in the Fall 2026 semester will result in the forfeiture of this award. Additionally, registering for and subsequently dropping a summer session course(s) during the University’s designated add/drop period will render students ineligible for this award. Some summer courses and student populations are excluded.

Recognition Awards for First-Year Students

These awards are available for first-year students who have achieved either the Eagle Scout, Girl Scout Gold or Explorer Award in high school. Students must submit proof of the receipt of their award to the Office of University Admissions. These awards are valued at $1,000 per year.

Special provisions and renewal criteria: For additional renewal criteria, refer to the terms and conditions for Adelphi University.

Institutional awards are applied to tuition and applicable fees. The University may reduce awards if combined with other aid (including VA benefits, external scholarships, or state grants) exceeds tuition and fee costs.

Most undergraduate awards require full-time enrollment, with potential waivers available through the Student Access Office for qualifying disabilities. Eligibility varies for non-degree, certificate, and off-campus programs.
