Adelphi has made a substantial commitment to making the cost of attending more affordable through institutional scholarship and grant programs.

Grants are usually based on financial need and scholarships are generally based on merit, talent or other criteria. A separate application is not required to be considered for most Adelphi merit scholarships; new students are automatically considered upon acceptance to the University. University grants are awarded to students who have filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), demonstrate need, and submit any required paperwork within the established priority deadlines.

We offer the following awards based on talent, merit and financial need. Except where noted, no additional application is required.

Institutional scholarships and grants are applicable to tuition and, in some cases, fees. The University reserves the right to adjust the financial assistance previously awarded when these awards in combination with other sources of assistance exceed the cost of tuition and fees, including BUT not limited to Veterans Affairs educational benefits, external awards and state scholarships and grants. Undergraduate scholarships and grants are generally awarded for full-time enrollment. The University’s full-time attendance enrollment requirement may be eliminated in cases of qualifying disabilities as deemed appropriate by the Student Access Office. For more information about this waiver of the full-time enrollment requirement, please contact the Office of Student Financial Services. Note about non-degree, certificate programs or programs not offered at our main Garden City campus: Please consult with our Office of Student Financial Services about your aid eligibility since this may differ from what is available to students enrolled in programs leading to a degree or those who attend our other locations.

Summer II Student Services - Student Financial Services: We have increased our essential employees from 5 to 11 and will continue to bring additional staff back to the office. Our blended approach will have some staff back in the office on a staggered work schedule and some staff members continuing to work remotely. The office is not open to visitors due to the tight office layout not meeting social distancing requirements and the lack of plexi-glass protective barriers necessary to meet with the public.
