Description:

The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the clinical process in speech-language pathology and audiology. Students will observe and reflect on 25 clock hours of diagnostic and therapy services.

Learning Goals:

Course Goals: At the completion of this course, students will1. have a basic understanding of the organization of the Hy Weinberg Center and practica requirements for certification;2. understand the nature of the assessment and intervention process;3. develop critical observation skills commensurate with theoretical knowledge to date;4. understand the components of the therapeutic process;5. gain knowledge of therapeutic-specific skills; and6. accrue a minimum of 25 hours of observations of speech and language services according to the requirements of ASHA Notes and Pre-requisitesFor majors onlyPre-requisite(s): 0876*144
