For majors only This course prepares students for successful integration of health information systems into healthcare practice. Healthcare providers are central to successful integration. Three domains are addressed: challenges encountered in health information system implementation; considerations for integration of health information systems; and system design in the perspective of end users. 1. Understand the importance of data integrity in health informatics.2. Analyze health IT systems' role in ensuring data security.3. Evaluate interoperability challenges in health information systems.4. Analyze socio-technical systems' role in health IT.5. Evaluate human factors in health informatics.
