Students will be given a basic introduction to computer analysis. Students will be expected to learn to analyze data using SPSS. Throughout the courses students will be instructed on how to write up the results of statistical analyses using A.P.A. format. For students to:• understand the logic of experimental design• develop a conceptual understanding of multivariate statistics• be able to comprehend statistical procedures used in psychological and educational researchFor students to learn:• the mathematical operations necessary to analyze data• how to decide upon the appropriate statistical technique for different experimental designs • how to use statistics to describe data • how to use statistics to formulate and test hypotheses• how to use EXCEL to graph data• how to use SPSS to analyze data• how to report findings in APA format *The learning goals displayed here are those for one section of this course as offered in a recent semester, and are provided for the purpose of information only.
