Tree of Kindness
Event Actions
The Tree of Kindness is a community-building program designed to promote inclusiveness and belonging among residents. As the semester comes to a close, students are invited to write positive, inclusive, or encouraging messages on Post-it notes and add them to a large paper tree displayed in the lobby. Each “leaf” represents a resident’s contribution to a welcoming and supportive community. The goal is to remind students that small acts of kindness and appreciation help everyone feel valued, respected, and included — especially during a busy and stressful time of year. By the end of the week, the tree will be filled with colorful leaves that symbolize unity, encouragement, and care within Chapman Hall.
