Whether you are currently on OPT or planning ahead, this workshop will help you understand the STEM OPT Extension process, eligibility requirements, and next steps.
The STEM OPT Extension allows eligible F-1 students who have earned a qualifying degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) field to apply for an additional 24 months of work authorization after completing their initial 12-month post-completion OPT.
Students will learn about STEM OPT eligibility requirements, the application timeline and process, and how to prepare and file Form I-765 with USCIS. The workshop will also cover Form I-983 requirements, employer eligibility and E-Verify, maintaining F-1 status while on STEM OPT, employment and unemployment requirements, and required reporting and validation responsibilities.
Whether your current OPT is approaching its end date or you are planning ahead, this workshop will help you prepare your STEM OPT application, understand your responsibilities, and maintain your F-1 status throughout the extension period.
