The Center for Student and Community Engagement is offering the Adelphi community the chance to participate in our Panther Day of Service.

The goal of the service event is to give back to the communities that surround Adelphi University.

Interact with students, staff, and faculty while visiting various locations completing projects. Faculty, staff and students are able to connect on a different level outside of the classroom and office working on projects together to better the community.

Check-in will be in the main lobby of the University Center. Check-in will be an hour before the start time of your service project.

Registration is first-come, first-served. Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate!

Community Service Options

Crossroad Farms

10:00am-12:00pm
15 spots available
Check in: 9am in the UC Lobby

Outdoor clean up and raking as well as indoor seed saving and possibly greenhouse seeding. Students will rotate between these responsibilities.
Transportation will be provided to and from Crossroad Farms

All students will need to fill out the Panther Day of Service form in addition to this additional form.

Momma’s House

10:00am-1:00pm
15 spots available

Clean out and reorganize the garage in the Massapequa house. This will require some heavy lifting. Transportation will be provided to and from the Momma’s House location

Island Harvest

10:00pm-12:00pm
Key Food in Garden City – 4 spots available
Stop & Shop in Carle Place – 4 spots available

Students will inform customers that they are collecting non-perishable items as they enter the store, and then collect donations as customers exit the store.
Students will need to provide their own transportation. If students are carpooling, a vehicle form will need to be filled out.

Relay For Life

12:00pm-2:00pm
10 spots available
7th Ave and Nassau Boulevard

Students will be walking around to stores soliciting sponsorship for Relay for Life.
Students will need to provide their own transportation. Both streets are within walking distance of Adelphi University.
