Panther Day of Service
Event Actions
The Center for Student and Community Engagement is offering the Adelphi community the chance to participate in our Panther Day of Service.
The goal of the service event is to give back to the communities that surround Adelphi University.
Interact with students, staff, and faculty while visiting various locations completing projects. Faculty, staff and students are able to connect on a different level outside of the classroom and office working on projects together to better the community.
Registration is first-come, first-served. Faculty, staff and students are invited to participate!
Community Service Options
Bethany’s House
10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Students will help clean out closets, storage rooms, and garage and sort and organize.
Bethany’s House

Community Garden

Students will paint the gardening boxes, plant seeds, and prepare the garden.
Panther Pantry
12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

- Transportation not provided as this will be held on campus
- Check-In at the University Center Lobby: 11:45 am
Students will assist with inventory and cleaning of the pantry.
LI Cares
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm

- 12 students
- Bus transportation will be provided. The bus will depart the UC at 12:15 pm.
- Check-In at the University Center Lobby: 12:00 pm
Students will assist with the food pantry by sorting items and packing orders.
Relay for Life
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Nassau Blvd and 7th Ave
- 5 students
- Transportation will not be provided as this is within walking distance of campus
- Check-In at the University Center Lobby: 12:45 pm
Students will walk around to businesses on Nassau Blvd and 7th Ave to ask for sponsorships for Relay for Life – either monetary donations, gift card donations, etc.
Mary Brennan Inn
2:00 pm – 4:30 pm
100 Madison Ave, Hempstead NY
- 15 students
- Bus transportation will be provided
- Check In at the University Center Lobby at 1:15pm.
Students will assist in the soup kitchen or assist in the pantry.
