Empowering women of color with culturally appropriate breast health education and support.

The heart of Sisters lies in our bilingual outreach coordinator and trained volunteers who provide women of color and minorities on Long Island with culturally-sensitive breast health information through workshops, health and wellness events, and one-on-one education.

Our Services

Educational Workshops and Events

We provide comprehensive bilingual breast health presentations tailored to the needs of our diverse communities through interactive workshops, health and wellness events, and one-on-one education sessions. Additionally, we offer bilingual educational presentations and in-service workshops to community organizations, agencies, schools, and places of worship.

Whether you prefer in-person or virtual workshops, reach out to our bilingual outreach coordinator to arrange a session.

Mammography Screenings

We assist individuals in accessing low-cost or free mammograms and clinical breast exams, regardless of their insurance or immigration status. Our patient navigation services ensure that barriers to care are addressed and that individuals receive the necessary support throughout the screening process.

Community Outreach

We actively participate in health/wellness fairs and community programs, providing free bilingual educational brochures and materials to community organizations and businesses.

These programs are supported by grants from the Cooperative Agreement DP 24-0061 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Nassau County CDBG Program, and New York State. This initiative is part of the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program.
