Description:

Develop independent investigative ability, technical skill, proficiency in scientific writing and presentation, and an in-depth understanding of research and the scientific approach through semester-long projects in a specialized field of biology.

Learning Goals:

Communication Oral, Information Literacy

At the end of this course, students would be able to:1. Design and carry out novel research projects in a specialized area of biology.2. Demonstrate skills and explain concepts used in research in that field. 3. Search for, collect, and evaluate scientific research articles relating to topics of interest. 4. Describe novel research results in written papers and oral presentations following established conventions for the field of biology.
