Spend your Spring Break in Romania! Alternative Breaks are a wonderful way to explore a new country while giving back to a community in need! You’ll take part in meaningful community service, immerse yourself in local culture, and explore Bucharest, Brasov, and Miercurea Ciuc! This adventure offers a unique opportunity to make a difference and create lasting memories.

Tentative Itinerary:
Saturday: Arrival and check-in at a hotel near the airport
Sunday: Bucharest city tour, including the Parliament Palace and tour? Transport to Miercurea Ciuc in the early evening
Monday: Morning orientation followed by the start of volunteer work
Tuesday: Volunteer work, free time/exploration in evening
Wednesday: Volunteer work, free time/exploration in evening
Thursday & Friday: Bra?ov city visit and castle tour, accommodation in Brasov
Friday afternoon (after 15:00): Transport back to the airport and return flight

Payment Schedule:
Total Trip Cost: $2500
Includes:

- Visas that may be needed for travel

Deposit: $1000 required to reserve your spot. First come first served, space is limited
Payment #2: $800 due by February 1st
Payment #3: $700 due by March 1st

Chaperones:
Kelsey D’Andrea, Assistant Director for the Center for Student and Community Engagement.
- Kelsey D’Andrea has chaperoned 6 previous Alternative Break trips, including Ossining NY, Trinidad & Tobago, Puerto Rico, Portugal, Argentina, and the Galapagos Islands. She oversees clubs/organizations on campus along with civic engagement opportunities.

Eligibility Requirements:
- A valid passport with an expiration date of after October 2026 in your CURRENT POSESSION. A passport is required to submit upon submitting a deposit.
- Clean conduct record
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Must be a current Adelphi student
- Must be registered for Spring 2026 classes
