About the Speaker

Dr. Gary Greaves

Dr. Gary Greaves is an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Adelphi University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in History and a Master of Arts in Political Science, focusing on American Politics and Political Theory. A former competitive debater and public speaker, Professor Greaves has built a career that bridges education, government, and community development. He has served as a Social Studies teacher at Nazareth Regional High School, a Senior Audit Analyst at the NYC Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget, and a Project Manager at the NYC Department of Small Business Services, where he oversaw economic development and workforce programs. He has also taught at Medgar Evers College, LIU Brooklyn, and Guttman Community College. At Adelphi, his teaching centers on civil rights, civil liberties, the U.S. Constitution, and communications.
