The United States is facing a nursing crisis.

The Career Closet is a new initiative at Adelphi created for our community to assist students in starting their professional wardrobe.

Public health experts Harlem Gunness, PhD; Deborah Stamps, EdD; and CNPH Clinical Associate Professor K.C. Rondello, MD, lectured on timely subjects during CNPH’s Public Health Week events.

According to Danny G. Willis, DNS, dean of the University of Rhode Island (URI) College of Nursing, who spoke at the Adelphi University College of Nursing and Public Health’s (CNPH) 15th Buckley Scholars Lecture on March 27, wellbecoming is the way we can promote a healthy mindset-“[it] is who we are and how we react,” he said. “We create our world with our mind.”

Despite proven potential to thrive at the college level, neurodivergent students often face challenges. Adelphi’s answer is the innovative Bridges to Adelphi program, offering academic coaching, career training and a first-in-the-nation sensory room to boost student success. This award-winning program is a national model for providing equity and access to higher education.

Adelphi University celebrated a momentous achievement during its seventh annual Giving Day on April 17 and 18, 2024, as the community rallied together to raise $684,564 from 2,011 donors—both are Giving Day records.

Adelphi University will recognize two inspiring leaders, and alumni, with honorary degrees at its Commencement ceremonies at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, on Tuesday, May 21.

Despite physical and mental health challenges stemming from his time in the military, Gavin Walters, MSW ’20, is now thriving as director of a veterans program in two counties in New York state and facilitator of a coalition that covers the entire state.
