Long Island Baldwin High School’s band director Scott Dunn had been looking for a “modern day Mozart,” he said, “someone who could compose band music that would help expand and give depth to the [band] repertoire so that it would be on par with symphonic music.” His journey ended once meeting Adelphi University Professor Paul Moravec, a 2004 Pulitzer Prize winner and recent Guggenheim award winner.  The story on Moravec’s composition for Dunn’s project was profiled in the The Freeport-Baldwin Leader.
