Adelphi alumnus Sonny Dante Stancarone M.A. ’79 was featured in the New York Daily News on Friday, March 29. Stancarone, the owner of Sonny’s Pianos in Holbrook, recently held his third piano giveaway contest. To enter, contestants had to post a video of themselves playing the piano to Sonny’s Facebook page. The entry with the most votes wins a Steinway Studio Upright that will be shipped to them free of charge.

A new video created for YouTube entitled “Adelphi Gives Back,” shows how students at Adelphi contribute to their local communities and those abroad.

The screening of the movie Phantom and special appearance by director and Adelphi graduate Todd Robinson ’82 and actor David Duchovny on Wednesday, March 6, was covered in the April issue of Networking. Students participated in a Q&A after the screening and a few select students participated in a masterclass with Mr. Robinson in which they received insider tips on the film industry.

Adelphi’s Dr. Stephen Shore, an assistant professor of special education, was interviewed for an autismnews.com podcast on Tuesday, April 2. Dr. Shore is an international expert on the subject, having spoken in 45 states in the U.S. and 28 countries worldwide. He is the author of Understanding Autism for Dummies.

Professor of Psychology of Adelphi’s Derner Institute, Dr. Robert F. Bornstein received the Martin Mayman Award from the Society for Personality Assessment. The award, which recognizes an article that makes a distinguished contribution to the personality assessment literature, was presented to him at the Society’s annual meeting in San Diego last week. This is the third time Dr. Bornstein has been granted the award.
