Long Island Business News reported that Catholic Health Services of Long Island has named alum Dr. Patrick M. O’Shaughnessy as the system’s vice president for medical affairs and chief medical officer. He earned his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and his master’s in business administration from Adelphi University.


The Board of Trustees of The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company announced today that alum Eileen C. McDonnell has been appointed to Chairman in addition to her role as President and Chief Executive Officer of Penn Mutual, effective July 1. Ms. McDonnell earned her M.B.A. in finance and investments from Adelphi University, in Garden City, N.Y. where she was recently honored for outstanding service to the school.


Recent graduate Crista Gallo’s accomplishments were profiled in her hometown newspaper of Bellmore Life. Ms. Gallo interned, through the Adelphi University Center for Career Development, with Catholic Charities at the Regina House in Merrick, caring for unwed mothers seeking refuge primarily from abusive relationships. She has been recognized for her research work with professors on campus and received a first-place award in the recent Adelphi Research Day on her work with phobias, working under the guidance of Professor Dr. Joel Weinberger.
