On-Campus Quarantine and Isolation
Because COVID-19 is still a threat to public health, some individuals might need to abide by stated quarantine restrictions.
Vaccination and COVID-19 Exposure
Individuals who have received all recommended COVID-19 vaccine doses, including boosters when eligible, or who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days, are not required to quarantine if exposed, but will be asked to isolate if they are symptomatic and ill.
Quarantine, Isolation and COVID-19 Testing
Students who are required to quarantine will be tested at least 5 days after their exposure and will need to test negative for COVID-19 before being released from quarantine.
Students are required to wear a well-fitting mask around others for 10 days from the date of the last close contact with someone with COVID-19.
Those who test positive for COVID-19 are required to move into isolation.
Students who become ill while in quarantine must immediately contact the Health Services Center by phone at 516.877.6003 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org for further guidance.
As per Nassau County, students who are required to quarantine will not be permitted outside of their room or to interact with the public. The only time students will be permitted outside of their quarantine room will be in the event of necessary medical care.
Students who are quarantined on campus may use their meal plan to purchase meals. Meal delivery will be coordinated by Dining Services, Residence Life and Housing, Health Services, and the Office of Public Safety. The cost of meals ordered from other providers will not be covered by the University. Expenses for personal needs such as textbooks or prescriptions are the student’s responsibility.
Students who wish to have laundry picked up, cleaned, and delivered back to them while in quarantine or isolation, may do so via HappyNest.com at their own cost. This outside vendor is not affiliated with Adelphi University.
