Dr. JohnElla Holmes will be discussing the historic settlement of Nicodemus, Kansas, the oldest and only remaining Black settlement west of the Mississippi River.
Recognized as nationally significant, Nicodemus National Historic Site is part of the National Park Service.

Dr. JohnElla Holmes
Dr. Holmes is a former professor at the Kansas State University Education program, and a descendant of the first Black settlers of Nicodemus.
