LGBTQIA+ First-Year Experience Program
If you are a first-year or transfer student at Adelphi University and identify as LGBTQIA+ join us for an exciting program that will help you meet friends, learn resources on campus and affirm your identity.
Through activities, meetings and community, this program supports LGBTQIA+ first-year students in meeting LGBTQIA+ people on campus, the e-board of the Adelphi GSA and connects them with others to learn about resources available to LGBTQIA+ students on campus.
The program runs in-person on Tuesdays for six sessions (location to be announced shortly.):
- September 14
- September 21
- September 28
- October 5
- October 12
- October 19
The LGBTQIA+ First-Year Experience Program is facilitated by Erin Furey; Outreach, Training and Mental Health Promotional Coordinator and is sure to get you feeling proud and connected to both the Adelphi community and the LGBTQIA+ community!
Please Note: You do not have to be “out” to attend, but you must identify as LGBTQIA+. We love our allies, but this program is for LGBTQIA+ students only. All attendee information will be kept confidential.
If you are LGBTQIA+ and you apply, you will be accepted. All who apply can attend! You are also welcome to come late if you have class at the time the program begins, but please note any class conflicts in your application. We do ask that students do their best to attend ALL sessions.
