Adelphi’s Chamber Music Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble and Concert Band perform virtually for the end of the semester.

Join the singers and instrumentalists of the Adelphi University Chamber Music Ensemble for a fun and varied program of music. This semester, the ensemble performs the music of Ignatius Sancho, Florence Price, Louise Farrenc, Davi Rocha, Francesca Caccini, Adelphi student Kevin Lubin, our Department of Music chair Dr. Sidney Boquiren, and special guest Dr. Amy Dunker from Clarke University.

The Classical Guitar Ensemble will present a variety of works for Guitar Duo, Trio, and Quartet. The program will include the wonderful ‘Villanescas’ from Enrique Granados’ ‘12 Danzas Españolas’, for duo, the tango-inspired ‘Adios Nonino’ by Argentinian composer Astor Piazzolla arranged for duo, and rhythmically intricate work by minimalist composer Steve Reich, ’Nagoya Guitars.’ The group will present Paul Hindemith’s ’Rondo’ for guitar trio, and will be joined by ensemble director Dr. Jay Sorce for Leo Brouwer’s beautifully evocative quartet ‘Cuban Landscape with Rain’.

The Adelphi Concert Band will perform under the direction of Dennis K. Sullivan.
