A Bite and Book Reading

The Latin American & Latinx Studies Program, Department of Languages, Literatures, & Cultures, Hispanic Serving Institute Task Force and The University Libraries are working collaboratively to host a Bite & Book Reading event featuring Dr. Wilson Anaya from the Languages Department.

Wilson Anaya

He was born in Cartagena, Colombia. At the age of 14 he traveled to the United States and settled in New York. He acquired his first undergraduate degree in Art and a master’s degree in Literature from Queens College. In 2016 he graduated from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York with a doctorate in Hispanic and Portuguese-Brazilian Philosophy and Literature. He studied Law and Police Sciences at the New York City Police Department academy. There he had a police career for twenty years. He has managed to build his own narrative identity with his thesis Origin and influence of the figure of Simón Bolívar on Latin American modernist writers. A libertarian project where Simón Bolívar assumes a heartbreaking attitude, both political and intellectual, in the existence of all Hispanic Americans. Wilson Anaya currently lives in Long Island New York and is working on his first novel.
