Are you great at getting work done but not so great at motivating others to do the same? Join NYC-based entrepreneur Dan Emery for an interactive workshop where he’ll show you his most successful methods for inspiring others and keeping a team on track. In this session, you’ll learn:
– How to set shared goals and team values
– How to let go of doing everything yourself and work towards delegating
– How to communicate well with people who report to you
– How to hold others accountable for their work while maintaining a friendly atmosphere
This is a great session for leaders in student organizations as well as anyone who hopes to be a supervisor or lead a team one day.
This program is part of the Leadership Certificate Program.
About the Presenter:
Dan Emery is the founder of NYC’s friendliest and fastest growing guitar school, New York City Guitar School, where over 3,000 students in 5 locations are learning guitar from the absolute basics to taking the stage in rock bands, step-by-step and song-by-song. He is the author of six books on guitar playing and deliberate practice, including the Amazon best selling guitar book “Guitar For Absolute Beginners” and he creates blogs on deliberate practice and “reality based parenting” for 25,000 subscribers to the NYC Guitar School Newsletter. Dan has a Masters in Education from Columbia University Teachers College, and extensive performing experience as a songwriter and guitarist for The Dan Emery Mystery Band. He doesn’t just teach others how to learn more effectively — he’s also constantly seeking to improve his learning skills in guitar, juggling, parenting, time management, language skills and more. Dan grew up home-schooled in Idaho, has a black belt, and his official life mission is “coaching personal greatness, one lesson at a time.”
