My number one objective as a teacher is to make sure my students walk away with actual skills that will help them with whatever path in life they choose to pursue. And I’m not just talking about vocational skills. I’m also talking about the less tangible skills such as personal expression, abstract thinking, the penchant for reinvention and creative problem solving. As a teacher, I believe in task driven activities. I keep lectures to a minimum because I feel strongly students should do most of the talking and doing. Whenever I can, I try to create actual jobs for my students in order to better prepare them for the real world.

Founding Member & Co-Director of Animation Speak/Easy, an interactive, in-person event where three guest speakers each share an animated short that inspires them, followed by a lively audience discussion. We've been operating since 2022.
