Diplomas/DegreesEd.D., Dowling College (2008) Recent CoursesIntergration Seminar III Personal StatementI teach because I believe in the power of knowledge and critical thinking within nursing education and the nursing profession. I believe the learning environment must be student-centered and that nursing students need to be active participants in their learning experiences. Teaching is something I do with them, not something I do to them. I do not expect or want my students to fail; I am their guide and my goal is to challenge and inspire them to become the best nurses they can be. I want them to think, to question and to know where to find answers. I want my students to understand that the profession of nursing is dynamic and they are on a life-long journey of learning.
