Personal Statement

I completed the Doctorate of Nursing Practice program at Case Western Reserve University with a concentration in education. Teaching students to prepare for their future RN roles; incorporate the art, science and caring role of nursing is my goal.

Teaching Specializations/Interests

Special interests include Adult Internal Medicine, teaching undergraduate Medical-Surgical Nursing, Community Health and Fundamentals of Nursing. I utilize technology in the classroom including pod casting lectures, PowerPoint and Moodle.

Research Interests

My research interest include the older adult and the relationship to exercise adherence in an assisted living facility.
POGIL implementation in SON Fundamentals & Medical-Surgical Nursing classrooms and the relationship to exam performance.
Comparing cultural competency pre and post Costa Rican experiences of undergraduate baccalaureate nursing students.
