Personal Statement

I am a native (and almost lifelong) New Yorker. I was born and raised in Brooklyn and currently live in Oceanside, Long Island.

I come from a family of teachers. I greatly enjoy teaching and (when I can) learning from my students as well. On many occasions, my own scholarly pursuits have grown out of my teaching.

I come to computer science from an engineering background and I believe that this influences a great deal of my attitude toward software design and implementation as well as how I teach it.
