The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (\u201cEEOC\u201d) is the federal agency that enforces workplace anti-discrimination laws, including<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The Americans with Disabilities Act (\u201cADA\u201d) and the Rehabilitation Act (which include the requirement for reasonable accommodation and non-discrimination based on disability, and rules about employer medical examinations and inquiries)<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act (\u201cTitle VII\u201d) which prohibits discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, and sex, including pregnancy<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (\u201cADEA\u201d) which prohibits discrimination based on age, 40 or older, and<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (\u201cGINA\u201d).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    These laws continue to apply during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic but they DO NOT interfere with or prevent employers from following the guidelines and suggestions made by the CDC and\/or state\/local public health authorities about steps employers should take regarding COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n
