The units seek to maximize the quality of the student, faculty and staff experience while maintaining appropriate cost effectiveness. Included in the finance operations are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintaining a robust general <strong>accounting system<\/strong> along with the policies and procedures needed to support the integrity of operations and reporting<\/li>\n<li>Creating and maintaining systems that facilitate an <strong>orderly flow of well-documented transactions<\/strong> into the University accounting systems<\/li>\n<li>Enacting a system of internal controls that protect University assets<\/li>\n<li>Providing a system of <strong>central procurement<\/strong> and travel management to ensure that resources are deployed in a cost-effective manner<\/li>\n<li>Maintaining a <strong>student accounts<\/strong> system with the corollary functions of billing and collecting on student accounts<\/li>\n<li>Integrating the systems of the University Registrar, Bursar, Student Financial\u00a0Services and Financial Aid to create an online one-stop shop where students can manage all of their enrollment and financial activities through a single portal.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Supporting the University\u2019s research mission<\/strong> through project\/award accounting, expense and reimbursement processing, and regulatory compliance activities<\/li>\n<li>The timely completion of high-quality <strong>financial, regulatory, tax and other reporting<\/strong> requirements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The office utilizes highly effective and quantifiably efficient financial management and accounting systems to conduct the business functions of the University in a manner that supports its educational, research and public service missions.
