Once all of your financial aid has been applied to your account and a credit balance exists, a refund will be issued within 7-10 business days.<\/p>\n<p>You must select a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/one-stop\/billing-and-payment\/refunds\/#disbursement\">disbursement method<\/a> for any refunds you will receive.<\/p>\n<p>If you decide to withdraw or change your class registration by adding or dropping courses for a specific semester, this could make you ineligible or over-awarded for all or part of your financial aid. If any of the actions listed below are applicable to you, please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/one-stop\/contact\/\">contact the<span> <\/span>One Stop Student Services<\/a><span> <\/span>to see if there has been or will be an adjustment to your student account:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>adding courses<\/li>\n<li>dropping courses<\/li>\n<li>have requested or will be requesting a reduction in your Federal Direct Loan, Federal Direct PLUS Loan, or alternative loan(s).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Tuition Refund Policy for Course Drops or Withdrawals<\/h2>\n<p>Refunds are computed as of the date the Registrar is notified of the withdrawal. The date of the request will determine the tuition liability for the semester. Nonattendance in a course does not constitute an official withdrawal. Students will be held responsible for payment of all tuition and fees until an official withdrawal is presented to the Registrar.<\/p>\n<p>Refunds do not depend on the number of class sessions held or attended. Failure to complete payment is not an official withdrawal. A student who is suspended or dismissed or who withdraws when under investigation for misconduct shall not have tuition refunded for the semester in which such action is taken.<\/p>\n<p>All refunds of credit balances must be requested from the<span> <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/one-stop\/\">One Stop Student Services<\/a>. All students who withdraw from the University prior to the first day of classes will receive a credit for all tuition and fees, less the mandatory withdrawal fee.<\/p>\n<p>Any credit existing from an Alternative Loan as a direct result of a partial (drop) or full withdrawal, where institutional charges have been reduced or eliminated will, in the best interest of the student, be returned to the lender in accordance with University policy.<\/p>\n<p>For details on how tuition refunds are calculated when students drop or withdraw from courses, see our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/policies\/refund-policy\/\">Tuition Refund Policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Refunds for Aid Which Exceeds Your Charges If a credit balance results from the posting of federal or state financial aid, Adelphi will automatically refund this amount as required by law.
