For faculty and staff who host courses in Moodle, we recommend that you check your content to ensure that everything works as expected. While the project team completed extensive testing, there may be custom code or plugins used by your courses that can potentially result in an incompatibility.<\/p>\n<p>If you encounter any errors, or find something that does not work or render correctly, you can contact the IT helpdesk to create a work ticket.<\/p>\n<p>For general hands on help with Moodle, please contact the FCPE.<\/p>\n<h2>Introduction to Moodle 4.1 Features and Key Improvements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\u00a0An accessibility toolbar can be enabled site-wide, and enhanced accessibility features are included for screen readers and keyboard navigation in Moodle\u2019s text editor, making it easier for everyone to access learning materials.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">The Dashboard summarizes important tasks within a timeline with clear call-to-action buttons, allowing learners to manage their time more efficiently<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">The improved Timeline allows students to view deadlines for all their courses.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">The Calendar allows students to plan and schedule their work<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Simplified Navigation: Tabbed navigation provides access to the most commonly used items, and the ability to collapse blocks and sections reduces distraction and visual clutter.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">My Courses page allows for quick navigation between all the courses in one place.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Course Index (left-hand side) \u2013 a new collapsible and expandable navigation menu to move smoothly between course sections, find activities and resources, and track activity completion.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Block Drawer (right-hand side) can also be expanded and collapsed, displays course-specific updates, information, and reminders.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Moodle Course Tours: The updated user tours orient new students to the platform\u2019s look and feel, providing quick hints on key features and new functionality.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Improved Course Page: Relevant information and actions required for each activity are clearly displayed, including completion conditions, status, activity dates, and restrictions.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Collapse and expand topics: Sections can now be collapsed and expanded, either individually or all at once.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">New color-coded activity icons: help learners identify the function of each activity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our Learning Management System has been upgraded from Moodle 3.9 to Moodle 4.1.
