International students are required to enroll in a “full course of study” each academic semester in order to maintain valid status associated with their student visa.

This means an international student is responsible for enrolling in a certain minimum number of credits or contact hours every semester, based on their specific academic level. Students who are unsure if their class schedule meets the requirements for a full course of study should speak with the DSO located in International Services.

The DSO can verify that your class schedule for the academic term meets the requirements to maintain valid status as required by your visa.

Online Courses

Students enrolled in a degree-seeking program are allowed to count no more than the equivalent of one class, or three credits, per semester toward the full course of study requirements. Students enrolled in English Language Training or a Pathway Program cannot count online courses toward a full course of study.
