Jones is currently employed with Integrative Empowerment Group, PLLC where she provides outpatient psychotherapy to adolescents and adults in southeastern Michigan. Clinically, Jones is interested in supporting clients who are wanting to work through racial identity development, heal from racial stress/trauma, and have healthy interpersonal relationships. Jones believes that one’s presenting issues are often a result of internalized messages that have unconsciously been ascribed to over the course of one’s life. As a clinical social worker, Jones seeks to understand how privilege, oppression, and policy affect mental well-being, and more importantly, how to live in a world that is fair and equitable for all. Jones believes that global change can occur only if we as individuals seek to change ourselves first. Through fostering the client’s inner: strength, wisdom, and insight, Jones believes that meaningful and sustainable change can occur. To support this, Jones uses components of: Schema therapy, DBT, and Mindful Self-Compassion. Jones is also trained through Phase II of Brainspotting, a cutting edge somatic and brain-based treatment for trauma. Jones has previously worked at a domestic violence shelter, youth shelter, and in community mental health. Jones is particularly passionate about working with those that are underrepresented in psychotherapy treatment due systemic oppression.
