About the Speaker

Her scholarship focuses on how cultural, gender and sexual minority groups resolve conflicts and develop. Dr. Chana Etengoff’s work is informed by the theoretical stance that human development is a constructive process embedded in relational, sociopolitical and historical contexts. Drawing on a social justice platform, she studies how minority groups’ community and interpersonal relations can improve even amidst adverse circumstances.

Chana Etengoff received her doctoral degree from the CUNY Graduate Center and is currently a Term Assistant Professor at Barnard College, Columbia University.
