Travel and Study Abroad COVID-19 Information for Students
Adelphi University does not support student and employee participation in university-affiliated international activities to locations categorized as Level 3: Reconsider Travel and Level 4: Do Not Travel by the U.S. Department of State or classified as Warning Level 3: Avoid Non-Essential Travel by the CDC. However; through the conclusion of the COVID pandemic, the President and/or the Provost may allow travel to locations with a Level 3 or 4 advisory from the U.S. Department of State without requiring a petition if:
- The advisory is entirely based on COVID-19.
- The Center for International Education recommends student travel after a careful review of the U.S. Department of State travel advisory and CDC COVID-19 Travel Recommendations by Destination, benchmarking other institutions, and reviewing the local context relevant to all destination countries.
For more information, contact the Center for International Education in Post Hall by email at cie@adelphi.edu or by phone at 516.877.3487.
Read the CDC Travel Reccommendations by Desintation Level on the CDC website.
All Study Abroad participants must fully comply with all CDC international travel recommendations in place at the time of their study abroad experience (this may include COVID-19 vaccination, testing requirements, masking and more).
All study abroad students must sign the Study Abroad Participation COVID-19 Waiver and Release.
Study Abroad students must agree to comply with all COVID-19 mitigation measures put in place by their host country, host jurisdictional government, and host educational institution.
Study Abroad students must understand and agree that if the situation with COVID-19 worsens in the future, and Adelphi determines that it is in the best interest of our campus community to once again pause these experiences, students will be required to return to the United States.
