The CRS is planning to open with reduced hours to start, gradually adding fitness and recreation opportunities.

CRS Facility Hours Update as of October 16th:

Beginning Wednesday, October 21st, the Gymnasium will have limited open hours as listed below.
Beginning Saturday, October 24th, there will be Fitness Center hours on Saturdays.   See schedule below. 


Fitness Center: Monday -Friday 12-3pm and 4-7pm; and Saturday 10am-1pm (in 45 minute time blocks
Indoor Track: Monday -Friday 10am-4pm

Gymnasium hours:

Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri 6-8pm.  
Max 10 ppl per court and max of 3 people on each end basket.  First come, first serve on the courts.  Badminton and table tennis may be set up as well on select days.

General CRS policies

  • All patrons are required to wear face coverings in all indoor recreational activities in the Center for Recreation and Sports.
  • Acceptable face coverings include cloth masks, disposable and medical grade face masks.(Gaiters, bandana and buffs are NOT considered acceptable face coverings)
  • COVID Self Screening (AU2GOAPP) “Cleared” (green) screen must be presented where asked. (Required in Fitness areas and Gymnasium)
  • Patrons are asked to come to the facility dressed for physical activity. Recreation Locker Rooms will not be available for use.

Fitness Center COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

  • You must make a reservation to access the Fitness Center through Imleagues which is accessed through eCampus.
  • Reservations are 45 minutes in length.
  • Only one session per person per day is allowed.
  • To accommodate the interests of patrons and reduce lingering (time waiting for a machine or station), the reservations will be divided into 2 groups:
    • Cardio (treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, etc) and
    • Strength (Resistance machines and free weights)
  • Reservations for the Fitness Center can be made up to 48 hours and at least 15 minutes in advance of the session.
  • If you are unable to make the session you signed up for, please remove yourself from that session to make room for another patron.
  • Upon entering the Fitness Center for your 45 minute session, you must:
    • Have valid identification (digital ID Preferred, AUID card is acceptable),
    • Wear an acceptable face covering (no bandanas or neck gaiters),
    • Display COVID self screening clearance
    • Pass temperature screening at the door.
  • Face coverings are required at ALL times while in the Fitness Center, NO exceptions!
  • NO spotters allowed, patrons are asked to lift a safe amount of weight that can be done without a spotter.
  • No pairs or group workouts allowed.
  • User responsibilities: keep your hands clean;wipe down equipment with wipes provided after use; stay socially distanced at all times.
  • All stations are set up at a minimum of 6 feet distance and patrons should observe signs and floor markings to aid in maintaining proper distance.
  • Shared equipment typically issued in the fitness center will not be available at this time.

Indoor Track COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

  • Adelphi students, faculty and staff only. (Be prepared to show AUID and self screening clearance upon request).
  • Face coverings required at all times.
  • Maintain 6 ft distance with other patrons.
  • Stay to the inside and outside lanes. Leave the middle lane for distancing. Runners are encouraged to stay to the outside lane.
  • Run/walk in same direction (counterclockwise).

Gymnasium COVID-19 Policies and Procedures for Recreational Use

(Re-opening date and hours TBD)

  • Adelphi ID and COVID-19 self screening clearance (AU2GOAPP) required for entry.
  • Max capacity will be 10 participants per court.
  • Maximum of 3 people per basket, no full or half court games.
  • Other activities may include singles badminton and table tennis.
  • Clean equipment after use with wipes provided.
  • Wash your hands when you leave the gym.

Functional Training Room COVID-19 Policies and Procedures

  • Same rules apply as the Fitness Center regarding reservations, face coverings, social distancing, cleaning, etc.
  • Remain in one of four workout zones provided.
  • User responsibilities: keep your hands clean; wipe down equipment with wipes provided after use; stay socially distanced at all times.

Multipurpose Studio COVID-19 Policies and Procedures for Recreational Use

  • Adelphi ID and COVID-19 self screening clearance (AU2GOAPP) required to enter.
  • Face coverings required at all times.
  • Bring your own mats, bands, hand weights, etc.
  • Remain in socially distant areas marked out on the floor.

The swimming pool will remain closed for the Fall semester.
