Students develop technical, creative, and critical thinking skills while creating original work and exploring the historical and cultural significance of art and design.<\/p>\n<p>To receive credit for research:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Connect with faculty during your first year to explore research interests<\/li>\n<li>Identify a focus area aligned with your artistic or scholarly goals<\/li>\n<li>Develop a creative project or research study under faculty mentorship<\/li>\n<li>Register for independent study or research credits with approval<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students present their work at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/research\/conference\/\">Adelphi Scholarship and Creative Works Conference<\/a> and may also participate in regional and national exhibitions, screenings, publications and other professional opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/research\/undergraduate\/\">SPARK Center<\/a> (Scholars Pursuing Arts, Research and Knowledge), students can receive funding, mentorship and support for creative projects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From your first year, you can engage in hands-on studio practice and creative research in areas such as painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, animation, graphic design, art history, and visual culture.
