{"id":521,"date":"2020-06-10T15:13:56","date_gmt":"2020-06-10T19:13:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/admissions\/military\/how-to-apply-2\/"},"modified":"2023-10-02T18:19:22","modified_gmt":"2023-10-02T22:19:22","slug":"benefits","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/admissions\/military\/apply\/benefits\/","title":{"rendered":"Advantages &#038; Benefits"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"post-114 page type-page status-publish hentry\">\n<p>Active, reserve and veteran military personnel who choose to study with us can take advantage of the following benefits and services to help begin their Adelphi experience.<\/p>\n<h2>Waiver of Application Fees<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>For all military personnel<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Pre-Enrollment Advising<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>From Adelphi staff who are familiar with military students and veterans affairs benefits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Late Admissions<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Veterans with no previous college experience are permitted to file applications up to the end of registration in each of Adelphi\u2019s eight schools.<\/li>\n<li>Veterans are allowed to begin classes pending completion of their application and provision of supporting documents.<\/li>\n<li>Late admission or re-admission fees are<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>waived<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>for all new or re-admitted veteran or currently enlisted students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Withdrawal<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>There is no academic penalty for early withdrawal in a semester.<\/li>\n<li>Any reservist or enlisted student recalled to active duty away from campus who cannot continue their studies can withdraw from courses at any point and not be subject to academic or financial penalties, unless they are also receiving federal student aid.<\/li>\n<li>Students who have nearly completed a course or courses may choose to take a grade of incomplete and then complete the course after they return from active duty.<\/li>\n<li>All University tuition and fees for the semester in which they withdraw will be negated and will not be charged to their overall Post-9\/11 GI Bill\u00ae benefits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Programs and\u00a0Opportunities for Adult Learners<\/h2>\n<p>Our<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/professional-continuing-studies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">College of Continuing and Professional Studies<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>specializes in helping adults older than 21 who want to complete an undergraduate degree program. This college has more than 6,000 graduates and has specialized features that benefit veteran students, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A streamlined admission process that does not require an SAT or ACT exam<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"College Credit\" href=\"https:\/\/www.adelphi.edu\/professional-continuing-studies\/admissions\/life-experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">College cred<span>it<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>for many military training programs, including basic training<\/li>\n<li>Courses filled with fellow adult students on evenings and weekends<\/li>\n<li>Accelerated, late start, online and blended course sections available<\/li>\n<li>Fully online degree programs in<span>\u00a0<\/span><a title=\"Emergency Services Administration\" href=\"http:\/\/university-college.web-dev.adelphi.edu\/academics\/undergraduate-degrees\/associate-of-science-in-emergency-services-administration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">emergency services administration<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>and<span>\u00a0<\/span><a title=\"M.S. in Emergency Management\" href=\"https:\/\/online.adelphi.edu\/undergraduate-degrees\/as-emergency-services\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">emergency management<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Financial Aid<\/h2>\n<p>The latest legislative information indicates that active, reserve and veteran military students who enroll in undergraduate or graduate programs at Adelphi should be covered for their tuition costs by the Post-9\/11 GI Bill\u00ae. Students enrolled in more than 12 credits per semester should be covered for tuition costs through a combination of the<span> <\/span><a title=\"The Post-9\/11 G.I.
