Computer and network security has become a hot topic both here at Goddard and for many organizations throughout the world. Recently there have been several attacks made on high profile web servers that have received the attention of the media (New York Times, Indian Nuclear Research, and China's Human Rights web sites were all compromised and defaced). There are many tools being used currently to protect systems from these types of attacks. Are these tools good enough? How are "hackers" able to break into systems with security in place? What is in store for the future?
